This coffee is from a Parish (Community) called Bududa in Mt. Elgon. It’s part of a brand new project in Uganda that’s also a new origin to us. We are really excited about this, first of all because we believe we can get really nice and complex naturals out of there. So for now we are focusing on micro lots of special prepped naturals and a few washed coffees. Located at altitudes from 1800 masl with main varieties such as SL28 and 34 similar to what they grow on the Kenyan side of the border. We believe the potential is great! The coffee cherries are delivered by the small holders to a drying station, called the Sironko Coffee Yard for improved and controlled drying. After delivery the cherries get floated, sorted for lower quality cherries, fermented in barrels for 36 hours, then moved to the table for more sorting. Then dried carefully 15-20 days.
